What We Believe

Bible:

The Bible is God’s only written Word. It is true and without error. It is eternal, powerful, and our highest authority. The main theme of the Bible is salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ:

Jesus Christ is both fully God and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and was raised to new life. He is the only Savior and Lord.

Salvation:

All humans are sinners in need of salvation. We cannot save ourselves. Good works and religious practices cannot take away sin. Only the death of Jesus Christ on the cross is sufficient payment for our sin. We receive the gift of salvation when we trust in Jesus Christ alone.

Resurrection:

Jesus Christ was raised bodily from the dead. He conquered sin and the grave. He will one day raise our bodies from the grave. Those who believe in Him will be raised to eternal life, and those who do not believe in Him to eternal condemnation.

Human History:

God created a perfect world without sin, death, suffering, or pain. But our first parents, Adam and Even, fell into sin. The Bible is the story of God’s plan to redeem people from sin by the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ. Through faith in Him paradise will one day be fully restored.

Church:

The church represents God’s kingdom on earth. Church people are not perfect. But through faith in Christ we are forgiven. He is the architect, builder, and Lord of the church. Our purpose is to worship, witness, love, and encourage each other. We give ourselves first to God, and then to each other.

Return of Jesus Christ:

Jesus Christ has ascended to heaven. He has promised to return to earth to bring this age to an end. He will come in great power and glory. He will put down all rebellion and judge the entire human race. Those who have received Jesus Christ through faith will enjoy the fullness of salvation forever. Those who have not received Him will be forever lost.
